Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 18.12.2017 and 22.12.2017 seeking permission to dig a WELL in the petitioner's agricultural land in S.F.Nos.456/1 and 457/1 to an extent of 0.43.5 Hectares, and 1.23.0 Hectares of agricultural land respectively situated at K.Pitchampatti, Karur Taluk, Karur District, within a time frame fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

ORDER

The petitioner said to have filed an application before the respondents seeking permission to dig a well in the petitioner's agricultural land. Since no order has been passed on his representation, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

2.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the application filed by the petitioner has been https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

sent to the Block Development Officer, Thanthonimalai Panchayat Union, Karur District for passing orders. Now, the matter is pending with the Block Development Officer, he is the authority to pass orders.

3.In the above circumstances, since the petitioner's application has been sent to the Block Development Officer, the Block Development Officer, Thanthonimalai Panchayat Union, Karur District, is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and it is always open to the petitioner to submit any documents for substantiating his claim.

4.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
