ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 17.02.2022 and to give adequate police protection for conducting "Sivarathiri Festival" in "Sri Veeru Chinnammal Kannimar Sangili Karuppasaami Thirukovil", which is situated in Koduvilarpatti village, Theni District on 01.03.2022 at about morning 7.35 AM, evening 07.00 PM and 02.03.2022 at about Morning 07.00 AM for two days.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents submitted that the rival party, namely, Sri Veeru Chinnammal Kannimar Sangili Karuppasaami Thirukovil trustee filed a Writ Petition in W.P.(MD).No.3252 of 2022 for seeking permission and adequate police protection to conduct "Sivarathiri festival" for "Sri Veeru Chinnammal Kannimar Sangili Karuppasaami Thirukovil" to be held from 01.03.2022, at about morning 6.00 A.M. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD).No.3763 of 2022 till 02.03.2022 at evening 6.00 P.M. for two days. This Court, by an order dated 21.02.2022, directed the second respondent herein to give permission to conduct the said festival with certain conditions.

3. For the very same temple, the present Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner showing him as the President of the said temple. Already, permission and police protection was granted to conduct Sivarathiri festival for the very same temple. Therefore, this Writ Petition is devoid of merits.

4. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
