ORDER
The present petition is filed by the petitioner seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 to 5 to provide police protection to the petitioner and his family members from the hands of the sixth respondent and his associates.
2.The main grievance of the petitioner is that the sixth 1/3
respondent, who is the son of the petitioner, trespassed into his house and also took away the documents relating to his property, along with 145 sovereigns of gold jewels. His further contention is that the sixth respondent is also threatening the petitioner with dire consequences.
3.Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), who accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents, on instructions, would contend that the representation submitted by the petitioner was registered in C.No.1/28038/689/2020 and is posted for enquiry.
4.At the outset, it may be observed that the petitioner is a senior citizen aged about 75 years and the sixth respondent, who is the son of the petitioner, is alleged to have taken away the documents relating to the property of the petitioner and is collecting rents from the petitioner's property. 5.Under the circumstances, the fifth respondent is directed to provide adequate police protection to the present petitioner, as per Section 21 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 and the Superintendent of Police, Sivagangai District, is also directed to give personal attention in the present matter and take all necessary measures for protecting the petitioner from the hands of his son / sixth respondent. 6.With the above observation, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
