The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondent Nos.1 to 3 to correct the guideline value, market value and classification of the punja property comprised in Survey No.928/1, situated at Senthamangalam East Village, Aravakurichi Taluk, Karur District, in the Registration Department website, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 23.01.2026.
2. The grievance of the petitioner is that the incorrect classification and guideline value assigned to the petitioner's property have caused several difficulties. According to the petitioner, the adjacent properties are classified as agricultural lands. The subject property is also an agricultural (punja) land and not a residential property. However, due to an apparent error in the records maintained by the Registration Department, the property has been wrongly classified, resulting in an incorrect guideline value. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 23.01.2026 to the respondents seeking correction of the classification and guideline value. Since the said representation has 2/5
not been considered till date, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.
3. The learned counsel Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 23.01.2026 would be considered in accordance with law.
4. This Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 23.01.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
