Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to issue passport to the petitioner by considering his application No.26-1050751067 dated 21.01.2026 and for other reliefs within a period of stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the first respondent to issue passport to the petitioner based upon his application dated 21.01.2026.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the second respondent brought to the notice of this Court that the petitioner has been implicated in Crime No.1031 of 2020 on the file of the second respondent Police Station, which has culminated in the filing of a charge sheet before the learned Judicial Magistrate Court, Pattukottai, in P.R.C. No. 20 of 2024. So far, the case has not been committed to the concerned Trial Court.

It was further brought to the notice of this Court that the petitioner is also involved in another criminal case in Crime No.61 of 2013 on the file of Sethubavachathiram Police Station, Thanjavur District, which culminated in the filing of a charge sheet before the learned Subordinate Court, Pattukottai, Pattukottai, in S.C. No.202 of 2019.

4. Considering the above said facts, the petitioner is directed to approach the learned Subordinate Court, Pattukottai seeking permission of the Court to go abroad. In case if any such application is filed, the same shall be disposed of within a period of four weeks. Based upon the orders to be passed by the learned Subordinate Court, Pattukottai, the first respondent is directed to proceed in accordance with law.

5. With the above observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
