PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner for promotion to the post of District Employment Officer by advancing the previous promotion awarded to the petitioner in the post of Junior Employment Officer.

Mrs.S.Srimathy, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents.

2.By consent of both parties, the main Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

3.The petitioner is presently working as Junior Employment Officer. The next promotional post is that of District Employment Officer. The petitioner is stagnating in the feeder cadre for more than seven years. The grievance of the petitioner is that the persons who were later recruited as Junior Employment Officer have since been given promotion. Therefore, he has given representations in this regard.

4.The first respondent is, therefore, directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.12.2017 and 12.02.2018 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks form the date of receipt of copy of this order.
