ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondent police not to harass the petitioners and their family members unnecessarily against law under the guise of enquiry and directing the respondent to act in accordance with law.

2. According to the petitioners, the respondent is frequently calling the petitioners under guise of enquiry, without any basis. Therefore, the petitioners filed this petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent police would submit that the petitioners conducted chit unauthorisedly and thereby, six complaints have been received against the petitioners and now, the respondent police is conducting enquiry on the complaints. He would further submit that the respondent has not harassed the petitioner and only for the purpose of conducting enquiry, the respondent called the petitioners, but, they did not 2/4

appear and hence, the respondent will conduct enquiry and dispose of the complaints in accordance with law within 15 days.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

5. In this case, according to the respondent police, there are complaints pending as against these petitioners regarding chit and thereby, the respondent called the petitioners for enquiry, but, they did not appear before the respondent police. Therefore, it is for the respondent to enquire into the matter and dispose of the same in the manner known to law, within 15 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above observations, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
