ORDER
The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to transfer the patta in the petitioner's name in respect of the property in Survey No.184/4, Patta No.574, to an extent of 1 acre situated at Velankulam, Marakathur, Kalaiyarkovil Taluk,
2. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for in the writ petition, with the consent of the parties, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the official respondents.
4. The petitioner's grievance is that in respect of the petitioner's land, patta has been issued to the fifth respondent and the petitioner has sought for transfer of the patta in his name, from the name of the fifth respondent.
5. The said representation has been given to the respondents 1 to 4. The District Revenue Officer is the competent authority to consider the petitioner's request for transfer of patta from the fifth respondent's name to the petitioner's name. The second respondent is, therefore, directed to pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 27.01.2025 on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the petitioner as well as the fifth respondent. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
