O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first to fourth respondents to cancel Patta No. 1542 standing in the names of the fifth and sixth respondents and to grant patta in favour of the petitioner in respect of the property in S.No.905, measuring an extent of 3 acres and 42 cents, situated at Amathur Village, Virudhunagar Taluk and District, by considering the petitioner's representations dated 01.10.2024 and 21.07.2025.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself, dispensing with the notice to the fifth and sixth respondents, as no adverse orders are proposed to be passed against them.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the subject property belongs to him, having been inherited by way of succession. However, the fifth and sixth respondents, with an intention to deceive the petitioner, have created fraudulent documents and caused mutation of the patta in their names. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 01.10.2024 to the first to fourth respondents seeking cancellation of the patta standing in the names of the fifth and sixth respondents and issuance of patta in his favour. Since no orders were passed, the petitioner again submitted a representation dated 21.07.2025, which also did not evoke any response. Therefore, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the first to fourth respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representations dated 01.10.2024 and 21.07.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the third and fourth respondents within a period of sixteen weeks.

5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a Page No. 3 of 6

direction to the third and fourth respondents to consider the petitioner's representations dated 01.10.2024 and 21.07.2025 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representations shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The third and fourth respondents are also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, the private respondents and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to pursue their remedies before the competent Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
