This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first to fourth respondents to cancel Patta No. 1036 in respect of the lands comprised in Survey Nos.63/2F, 64/9B, 70/3, 70/4B3, 70/4B6, 74/8A and 89/5, situated at Kumaralingapuram Village, Virudhunagar Taluk, Virudhunagar District and consequently to grant patta in the name of the petitioner, based on his representations dated 14.03.2024, 22.02.2025 and 29.10.2025.
2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself, dispensing with the notice to the fifth respondent, as no adverse orders are proposed to be passed against her.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that she is the owner of the subject properties and the revenue records were mutated in her name. The petitioner sold the said properties to one Gopalakrishnan on 23.01.2023. Upon verification, it was noticed that the name of the fifth respondent, who is none other than the wife of Subbaraj, the brother of the petitioner's husband Pandi, had been entered in the patta without issuing notice to the petitioner or affording her an opportunity of hearing. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 14.03.2024 seeking cancellation of the patta and restoration of the patta in her name. The second respondent, vide proceedings dated 19.03.2024, directed the third respondent to take necessary action. However, no action has been taken. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted further representations dated 22.02.2025 to the third respondent and 29.10.2025 to the second respondent. Even thereafter, no action has been taken. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the first to fourth respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representations would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the third respondent within a period of sixteen weeks. Page No. 3 of 6
5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 14.03.2024 and 22.02.2025 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representations shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The third respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, fifth respondent and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to pursue their remedies before the competent Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
