PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 26.02.2018 to promote the petitioner to the post of Security Inspector under the scale of pay of Rs.9,300-34,800/-(Pay Band) with Grade Pay of Rs.4,300/- within a stipulated time fixed by this Court. Mr.A.Jeyaram, learned counsel, takes notice for the respondents.

2.By consent of both parties, the main Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission. 3.The petitioner is employed in the second respondent/ Transport Corporation as Security Guard. He seeks promotion to the post of Security Inspector/Security Supervisor or Assistant Security Officer in the Security Cadre Service. In this regard, he has given representations dated 08.01.2014 and 26.02.2018. This Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.It is open to the authority to pass orders one way or the other. Therefore, the first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representations on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
