ORDER

Heard both sides.

2. The prayer in the writ petition has become infructuous, since Manimandapam was opened on 27.02.2024. But then, the petitioner's counsel points out that a liquor outlet is being run in the immediate vicinity. It is further stated that Manimandapam was fully constructed in the year 2021 itself and that the liquor outlet was opened subsequently. The petitioner would go to the extent of saying that it is used as place of worship. There is a library located within the Manimandapam.

3. In these circumstances, I wonder whether it is proper to permit running of a liquor outlet. But then, it is a call that has to be taken by the second respondent. The petitioner is said to have given objection in this regard. The second respondent will have to take a call as to whether the liquor outlet in the vicinity would continue to run. Decision in this regard has to be taken by the second respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
