This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondent to grant permission and protection for cultural event namely Adal padal scheduled to be held on 19.03.2018 at night in connection with "Panguni Festival" in Arulmigu Sri Mutharamman Kovil, at Rajagopalan Nagar, Thoothukudi, Thoothukudi District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 22.02.2018. 2.Heard, Mr.V.Ramalingam, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.N.Shanmuga Selvam, learned Additional Government Advocate, appearing for the respondent. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has submitted that the villagers are conducting Adal Padal on 19.03.2018 in connection with the "Panguni Festival" in Arulmigu Sri Mutharamman Kovil, at Rajagopalan Nagar, Thoothukudi, Thoothukudi District and for that, they have already given a representation dated 22.02.2018 to the respondent, but, sofar, no https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
order has been passed. Hence, he has filed the present writ petition.
4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent has submitted that since the examination for the 10th and +2 standard are going on and the examinations will be finished only on 06.04.2018, the petitioner may be directed to give fresh representation mentioning the festival date after 06.04.2018.
5.Considering the aforesaid submissions, the petitioner is directed to give fresh representation mentioning the festival date after 06.04.2018 and on submitting such representation, the respondent is directed to consider his representation and pass order. At the time of passing order, the respondent has to keep in mind the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the case of Church of God (Full Gospel) in India Vs. K.K.R, Majestic Colony Welfare Association and Ors, reported in 2001 - 1 - L.W. (Crl.) 233.
6.With the aforesaid observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
