PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to consider the petitioner for appointment to further positions under the second respondent Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) along with K.Sethurajan.

Mr.R.Jeyakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents.

2.By consent of both parties, the main Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission. 3.The petitioner is working as Instrument Mechanic-Grade II in the office of the Assistant Engineer, Carrier Communication II, Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO), Madurai. He was an Ex-Serviceman. The grievance of the petitioner is that his name was sponsored by the Employment Exchange to the post of Technical Assistant (Electrical). But, instead one K.Sethurajan, who is junior to him was appointed in the post of Technical Assistant (Electrical). He gave representations in this regard. 4.The second respondent is, therefore, directed to consider the petitioner's representations, pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
