Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent herein to provide necessary police protection during the conduct of the Annathanam Function during the coming Taipoosam Festival Day on 31.01.2018 at in my own premises situated at Survey Number 364/19 measuring an extent of 0.03.75 situated at Vengaipatti Village, Sivagangai District on the basis of the petitioner representation dated 26.12.2017.

This writ petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus direcitng the second respondent to provide necessary police protection during the time of conducting of Annathanam Function during coming Taipoosam viz., on 31.01.2018 in the petitioner's premises situated at Vengaipatti Village, Sivagangai District.
2.Heard Mr.B.Jameelarasu, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.N.Shanmugaselvam, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that every year, the petitioner used to conduct Annathanam Function during Taipoosam Festival in his house. Likewise, this year also, on Taipoosam day, i.e., on 31.01.2018, the petitioner wants to conduct Annathanam, for that, he gave a representation to the second respondent seeking police protection and so far the said representation has not been disposed of. 4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted the second respondent would consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders. 5.Recording the above said submission, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.12.2017 and pass appropriate order on or before 19.01.2018.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
