Heard Mr.S.Rajasekar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr.J.Ashok, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

2. The petitioners have filed this petition seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to dispose of the appeal petition dated 18.01.2024 within a stipulated time.

3. Mr.S.Rajasekar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that though the petitioners sent several representations to revise the panel for promotion to the post of Deputy Tahsildar, the said representations were not considered. In the meantime, the 2nd respondent issued a revised panel on 04.01.2024 without rectifying the error which was mentioned by the petitioners. But the 1st respondent is the competent 2/4

authority to revise the panel. Hence, the petitioners filed an appeal petition dated 18.01.2024 before the first respondent and the same has not been considered by the first respondent so far. Hence, this petition.

4. In view of the above submissions and considering the fact that the petitioners have preferred an appeal before the first respondent, I feel that it is appropriate to direct the first respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 18.01.2024 preferred by the petitioners within a specific time limit.

5. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of and the first respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the appeal preferred by the petitioners in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
