ORDER

The present petition has been filed by the sole accused in C.C.No.74 of 2020 on the file of the learned District Munsif Cum Judicial Magistrate, Cheranmahadevi, seeking a direction to the learned District Munsif Cum Judicial Magistrate, Cheranmahadevi, to dispose the case filed by the second respondent in C.C.No.74 of 2020 on the file of the learned District Munsif Cum Judicial Magistrate, Cheranmahadevi.

2.According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner is a life convict and due to pendency of this criminal case, other privileges such as parole are not being conferred upon him. He further submits that from 03.05.2024 onwards, the witnesses have not been examined. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the first respondent Police brought to the notice of this Court out of ten witnesses, five witnesses have already been examined and therefore, the trial could be completed within a period of 3 months.

4.Considering the fact that the case is pending for the past 5 years and the five witnesses have already been examined, there shall be a direction to the 2/4

learned District Munsif Cum Judicial Magistrate, Cheranmahadevi, to expedite the trial and dispose of the case in C.C.No.74 of 2020 on or before 31.06.2026.

5. With the above said directions, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
