Heard Mr.R.G.Shankar Ganesh for the petitioner and Mr.P.T.Thiraviam, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents.

2. The petitioner seeks for mandamus directing the first respondent to execute a discharge receipt and the second respondent to register the same.

3. When the writ petition came up for hearing under the caption for admission, Mr.P.T.Thiraviam produces written instructions from the first respondent stating that he shall execute a discharge receipt for the property situated in S.Nos.340/2, 340/2A2, 340/2B, 488/1B and 489/1A. For ready reference, the said instruction is scanned and extracted hereunder:

In the light of the categorical undertaking given by the first respondent, this Writ Petition is allowed with direction to the respondents to execute a discharge receipt and register the same within a period of 15 days from today (i.e., 19.02.2025).
