PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 1st Respondent to renew the petitioner's passport in passport No.G6828803 in reference to the Petitioner's Application in Application Ref.No.25-1065664994 dated 17.11.2025 in File No.MA1075932473/25 on the file of the 1st Respondent Authorities. 1/4

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the first respondent to renew the passport of the writ petitioner based upon his application dated 17.11.2025.

2. The learned Government Advocate(crl.side) appearing for the second respondent submits that the petitioner has been implicated in a criminal case in Cr.No.128 of 2025 on the file of the Government Rajaji Hospital Police Station, Madurai City. She further submitted that the defacto complainant has given a letter to the concerned Sub-Inspector of Police on 02.09.2025 that he does not like to proceed with the complaint. Therefore, no further action has been initiated as against the petitioner.

3. In view of the above said facts, there is no legal impediment for the first respondent to consider the request of the writ petitioner for issuance of the passport and order shall be passed within a period of 4(four) weeks form the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
