O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to transfer the patta in the petitioner's name in respect of the Natham Old Survey No. 61 and New Survey Nos. 73/16 and 71/25, measuring an extent of 675 square feet, situated at Oomathampatti Village, Sattur Taluk, Virudhunagar District, by considering the petitioner's application dated 11.01.2024.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents.

3. The petitioner submitted a representation dated 11.01.2024 seeking transfer of patta in his name in respect of the aforesaid properties. However, no action has been taken on the said representation. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Learned Government Advocate, appearing on behalf of the respondents, submits that the petitioner's representation would be 2/5

considered on merits and in accordance with law.

5. In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 11.01.2024 on merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an inquiry. The third respondent is further directed to afford a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and to all other persons who may be affected by such decision during the course of the inquiry. There shall be no order as to costs.
