ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 20.02.2021, wherein, the petitioner has sought for verification certificate to the effect that Samsath Begam and Sameeth is one and the same person.

2. The case of the petitioner is that her husband was working in Southern railways and he voluntarily retired from service in the year 2003. He was also receiving the pension till his demise in the year 2020. The petitioner approached the Southern railways and presented an application for the payment of family pension to the petitioner. At that point of time, the concerned authority in the southern railways found that the name of the petitioner has been mentioned in the Pension Payment Order as Sameeth instead of Samsath Begam. The petitioner was therefore asked to get a verification certificate from the respondent.

The petitioner made a representation to the respondent on 20.02.2021 in this regard. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate direction. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the materials filed in support of the writ petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 20.02.2021 and issue necessary verification certificate, after satisfying himself with regard to the identity of the petitioner based on the documents, within four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the respondent along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order.

6. This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
