ORDER

The writ petition has been filed to dispose of the pending appeal on the file of the second respondent from February 2023.

2. The petitioner claiming that patta as well as the revenue records are standing in the name of his father and subsequent to the demise of his father, the subject lands are in joint possession and enjoyment of all his legal heirs. However, patta has been fraudulently mutated in the name of one Ganapragasam, behind the back of the legal heirs including the petitioner. The petitioner has made a representation to the respondents 1 & 2 to cancel the said patta in favour of the said Ganapragasam, the third respondent on enquiry the petitioner's request has been rejected. According to the petitioner, no proper enquiry was conducted before the third respondent rejected the application.

3. Aggrieved by the said order of the third respondent, the petitioner has preferred an appeal before the second respondent on 07.02.2023 and the same is pending without any progress. 2/5

4. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in the writ petition, with the consent of the parties, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the second respondent is taking up the appeal and the next hearing is fixed on 21.02.2025.

6. In view of the above, it would suffice to dispose of the writ petition directing the second respondent to conclude the enquiry in the pending appeal dated 07.02.2023 and pass final orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, the writ petititon is disposed of. No costs.
