O R D E R

This Criminal Original petition is filed seeking a direction to the learned Special Judge for Exclusive Trial of Cases under the SC/ST (POA) Act, 1989, Sivagangai, to complete the trial pending in S.C.No.270 of 2009 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Criminal side) appearing for the respondents.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that a case was registered in the year 1997 and final report was filed on 2.8.2000. However, the case was taken on file in S.C.No.270 of 2009 and there is no progress. Thus, even after 20 years have lapsed, the criminal case is not yet disposed. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. Considering the facts narrated in the petition and admitted facts of the case, this Court is of the view that a direction can be issued to the learned Special Judge for Exclusive Trial of Cases under SC/ST(POA) Act, 1989, Sivagangai.

5. Hence, the Criminal Original petition is allowed and the direction is issued to the learned Special Judge for Exclusive Trial of Cases under SC/ST(POA) Act, 1989, Sivagangai, to complete trial pending in S.C.No.270 of 2009 and dispose of the same within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
