PRAYER:- Petition - filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, the 2nd and 3rd respondents to consider the petitioner's application dated 14/10/2019 to cancel the Patta No.1612, 1704 Melaikudi Group, Paramakudi Taluk, Ramanathapuram district in the name of the 4th and 5th respondents and issue patta in his name. 1/4

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner died during the pendency of this writ petition.

2. In light of the above development, this writ petition has abated. If the legal heirs of the deceased petitioner want to prosecute against the private respondents for cancellation of patta, it is left open to the legal heirs of the deceased petitioner to make a fresh application before the concerned Revenue Divisional Officer seeking for cancellation of patta and proceed further in accordance with law.
