O R D E R

This petition has been seeking for a direction to the second respondent namely Inspector of Police Melapalayam Police Station, Tirunelveli District to give necessary police protection to the life of the petitioner and his family members as and when required by the petitioner.

2.From the facts narrated in the petition, it could be seen that the petitioner's elder son by name Ponniah and one Senthurajasutha had fallen in love and married. It is also further stated that the petitioner's daughter in law is belonging to different caste and that her parents did not agree the marriage between the petitioner's son and their daughters. Since the mother of the boy felt life threat by the respondents, brothers of her daughter in law, this petition has been filed seeking police protection.

3. Though the petitioner has given representation for giving appropriate police protection not only to the petitioner but also to the young married couple, the respondents 1 and 2 have not responded. Since the present petition has been filed only on the basis of some apprehension without any serious threat, this Court is inclined to issue the following directions:- "The second respondent is directed to give necessary protection if it is required on the basis of any complaint given by the petitioner or on the enquiry in relation to the representation submitted by the petitioner seeking police protection."

4.With the above observation, this Criminal Original Petition is closed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
