ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondent police to expedite the investigation in Crime No.373 1/4
of 2024 and to file the final report within the time stipulated by this Court.
2. According to the petitioner, she is the defacto complainant in this Case and on 29.08.2024, somebody broke open the house of the petitioner and stolen 12 sovereigns of gold jewels and silver for value of Rs. 3,65,000/-, thereby she lodged a complaint on 30.08.2024 and F.I.R in Crime No.373 of 2024 has been registered for the offences under Section 331(2), 331(4) and 305(a) of BNSS, 2023. The respondent police have not conducted proper investigation and still the investigation is pending and they have not filed any final report. Therefore, she filed this petition.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal) appearing for the respondent would submit that in the case, the complaint was lodged as against an unknown person and they are also investigating the case. Already, the finger prints were taken from the place of occurrence and they will complete the investigation within three months.
4. Considering the representation of the both side counsels and though the F.I.R has been registered on 30.08.2024, so far investigation has not been completed by the respondent as the case has been registered against an unknown person. The respondent has also taken finger prints 2/4
from the place of occurrence and now, the case is under investigation. Recording the above said submission of the learned Government Advocate, this Court directs the respondent to complete the investigation as early as possible, preferably within two months from the date of receipt of copy this order.
5. With the above said observation and direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
