This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to include Re.S.No.177 of Pothumbu Village-I Bit, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District, in the existing Patta No.2397 and to remove the name of the previous owner from Patta No. 759, based on the petitioner's representation dated 31.10.2025 and the online application dated 30.10.2025.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner purchased the lands in Survey Nos.177, 178/2, 179 and 180, measuring a total extent of 28 acres and 11 cents, from the respective title owners. The petitioner Page No. 2 of 5

submitted a representation to the respondents seeking inclusion of its name in Patta No.759, which stood in the names of the previous owners, in respect of all the said survey numbers. However, the patta was altered and a new joint patta in Patta No.2379 was issued, omitting Re.S.No.177. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 03.03.2025 and an online application dated 30.10.2025 seeking correction of the patta. However, no action has been taken.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the issue pertains to UDR correction and is now pending before the District Revenue Officer, Madurai, who is not a party to the present writ proceedings.

5. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if a direction is issued to the District Revenue Officer to consider the objections raised by the petitioner herein.

6. Recording the above submission, the District Revenue Officer, Madurai, is suo motu impleaded as the third respondent. The petitioner shall file its objections before the third respondent. The third respondent Page No. 3 of 5

shall consider the petitioner's objections before passing any order with regard to the said issue.

7. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
