O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition is filed for a direction to the respondents herein to provide police protection to the petitioner and his family members to protect their life and liberty.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) appearing for the State.

3. The petitioner is a practising lawyer. The petitioner is said to be the person, who was responsible for the orders having been passed against the higher officials of the State in the Writ jurisdiction.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner apprehends threat to his life in view of the fact that he is at high stake.

5. A counter affidavit has been filed by the third respondent stating that there is no material available with respect to the apprehension expressed by the petitioner from the named persons and there is no specific threatening call or threatening letter.

6. The petitioner has filed Writ Petitions, Contempt Petition and Petition for Perjury against higher officials and the petitioner is pursuing a sensitive case. If anything happens to the petitioner, it is the respondents, who will be responsible. Therefore, in the interest of justice, this Court is of the view that it is just and proper to give adequate police protection as and when the petitioner requires the same.

7.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
