PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of CERTIORARIFIED MANDAMUS calling for the records, pertaining to the impugned order, passed by the 1st respondent, the District Revenue Officer, Tenkasi District, Tenkasi, by his proceedings, vide No. COLR/11107/2025-C4, dated 13-12-2025, and quash the same, and pass direction, to the 1st respondent, to issue the permanent licence, to this petitioner, to run a crackers retail shop, within a time frame fixed by Court. ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed challenging the order passed by the first respondent herein wherein the request of the petitioner for issuance of explosive licence has been rejected.

2. A perusal of the impugned order reveals that based upon three reasons, the request of the petitioner has been rejected on 13.12.2025.

3. Section 6-F of the Explosives Act, 1884, provides for a statutory appeal to the Additional Chief Secretary to Government. In such circumstances, this Court is not inclined to entertain the present writ petition.

4. In view of the above said facts, this writ petition stands disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to file a statutory appeal as against the order of the first respondent. In case if any appeal is preferred before 15.03.2026, the same shall be entertained without any reference to the period of limitation. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed. 16.02.2026 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Internet: Yes/No RJR Note: Registry is directed to return the original impugned order after getting acknowledgement from the learned Counsel for the petitioner.
