ORDER

The present petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's compliant, dated 01.08.2024 and issue Non - Traceable Certificate in respect of the registered settlement deed, dated 24.02.2010 as Document No.610/2010 registered with SRO Aranthangi by conducting appropriate enquiry.

According to the petitioner, settlement deed in document No. 610/2010, dated 24.02.2010 was executed in favour of the husband of the petitioner by his mother Suppamal and the same was registered with SRO Aranthangi. While so, on 23.07.2024, the original settlement deed was misplaced while taking xerox copy in the shop "VP Xerox Shop" located near Aranthangi Bus Stop. Thereafter, the petitioner was unable to trace out the above mentioned settlement deed. Therefore, the petitioner gave a complaint before the respondent on 01.08.2024. 2/5

Thereafter, no action was taken and the respondent has not issued non traceable certificate. Therefore, the petition is filed.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent would submit they received the complaint, dated 01.08.2024 and the same is under enquiry and they will complete the enquiry within a week and act in accordance with law.

Considering the limited scope of prayer sought for in this petition and also taking into consideration of the submissions made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent that they will complete the enquiry and dispose the complaint of the petitioner, dated 01.08.2024, within a week, this Court directs the respondent to complete the enquiry in accordance with law within a period of one (1) week from the date of this order. 3/5

5. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
