This Criminal Original petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents 4 and 5 not to harass the petitioners in the name of holding an enquiry.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and the learned Government Advocate(Criminal side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 5.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that at the instigation of the sixth respondent in this petition, the petitioners are being harassed. It is stated that at least on two occasions, the petitioners were called for enquiry, without issuing summons. He also submitted that there was a dispute and the same was amicably settled pursuant to the Peace Committee Meeting held by the Tahsildar concerned. Though everything went on well, the enquiry at the instigation of the sixth respondent is nothing but a harassment.
4. The contention of the petitioners is disputed and the learned Government Advocate(Criminal Side) on instructions submitted that the settlement is made between the parties, pursuant to the decision taken by the Peace Committee Meeting.
5. Since the specific allegations have been made against the respondent police, this petition is closed. However, with a direction to the respondent police not to harass the petitioners by calling upon them to appear for any enquiry without issuing summons. If there is a complaint as against the petitioners, they may be called upon by the respondent police to enquire them, after issuing summons prescribing date and time and informing the petitioners concerned, the nature of the complaint received against them and the purpose of the enquiry.
