The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the third respondent not to establish bus stop shelter in front of Petitioner's land at Block No.41, T.S.No.136/2, extent of 89 sq.mts, Ward C Rethinakottai, Aranthangi Town and Taluk, Pudukkottai District based on his representation, dated 24.1.2026.
2.The primary objection of the Writ Petitioner is that the construction of the bus shelter in front of his shop affects the ingress and egress. He further submits that the land belongs to the Highways Department. Without getting permission from the Highways Department, the authorities cannot proceed with the construction of the bus shelter.
3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the third 2/5
respondent, on written instructions, submitted that the work order was issued on 25.9.2025 and the construction work is going on in S.No.138 which belongs to the Highways Department. It is further submitted in the written instruction that the bus shelter is located 15 feet away from the property of the Writ Petitioner.
4.In view of the above facts, it is clear that the construction of the bus shelter would not affect the ingress and egress of the Writ Petitioner. Only after getting permission from the second respondent, the third respondent shall proceed with the construction work. 5.With the above observations, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 18.02.2026 NCS : Yes/No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No vsn To 1.The District Collector, Pudukkottai District, Pudukkottai..
