ORDER

Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

2. The petitioner has filed the instant writ petition seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to issue patta based on the petitioner's representation dated 29.11.2024.

3. According to the petitioner, the petitioner's vendor namely Palchamy was one of the joint patta holders in respect of Patta No.2027 which has been issued by the Tahsildar, Srivilliputhur. However, without any notice or hearing, the Patta No.2027 now stands mutated in the name of four other persons. In fact even the survey number in respect of the revised patta is entirely different which reflects as S.No.1020/2D, whereas the petitioner is concerned with S.No.1384/2C. There appears to be some error while digitizing the records. The same Patta number reflects totally two different properties standing in the name of two different owners. Therefore, the request of the petitioner for necessary correction is to be entertained.

In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the 3rd respondent to look into the grievance of the petitioner based upon the petitioner's representation dated 29.11.2024 and pass orders after scrutinizing the records and if necessary after hearing the petitioner as well as the 4 other persons, in whose names Patta No.2027 stands presently mutated. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition is disposed of with the above observations and directions. No costs.
