2. A Division Bench of this Court has struck down Section 77A as unconstitutional in M.Kathirvelu -vs- Inspector General of Registration (2024) 4 C.T.C.769. Following the said judgment, this writ petition is allowed and the impugned proceedings are quashed. It is left open to the petitioner and the second respondent to approach the jurisdictional civil Court to work out their rights in the manner known to law. The writ petition is allowed accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
