ORDER

Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for in the writ petition, with the consent of the learned counsel on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 2.The petitioner has sought for information regarding the legal heirship certificate of one Asiyamariyam. The application was rejected by the Public Information Officer. Hence, the petitioner preferred an appeal on 05.06.2024. It was also rejected by the Appellate Authority stating that the information sought for pertains to third party information and hence, there was prohibition to furnish the information under the Right to Information Act, 2005. Aggrieved by the said concurrent orders, the petitioner has preferred the second appeal before the respondent on 09.08.2024. The petitioner only seeks expeditious disposal of the said second appeal, which is pending without any progress on the file of the respondent.

3.Heard the learned counsel on either side.

4.Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for, without going into the merits of the second appeal, this Writ Petition is allowed with a direction to the respondent to consider and pass final orders on the petitioner's second appeal, dated 09.08.2024, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, without seeking any further extension of time.
