PRAYER : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent i.e., the Agricultural Production Commissioner and Principal Secretary to Government, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law on the report sent by the Deputy Director of Horticulture, Tirunelveli in his letter No.A1/4890/2017 dated 09.2017 within a specified time frame. Mr.K.Saravanan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents.

2.By consent of both parties, the main Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 3.The petitioner was employed in the Agriculture Department. He reached the age of superannuation on 31.03.2015. He was not however allowed to retire. He was placed under suspension. This was on account of vigilance enquiry. But, till date final

decision is yet to be taken. Therefore, this Writ Petition has been filed, seeking finalization of the said proceedings. 4.The first respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on merits in accordance with law on the report sent by the Deputy Director of Agriculture/personal Assistant to Collector, Tirunelveli District, vide his letter dated 30.03.2015 in this regard within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
