Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondent from disturbing the Petitioner in running press office in the name of Nagaroli at Thamukkam Shopping Complex which was allotted by the Respondent vide order dated 10.07.2013 in MaVa3/07538/13 on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 06.02.2026 in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondent from disturbing the petitioner in running his press office under the name and style "Nagaroli" at Thamukkam Shopping Complex, which was allotted to him by the respondent vide order dated 10.07.2013.

2. A perusal of the records reveals that the building in which the petitioner's press office was situated has been demolished for the purpose of widening the National Highway and for construction of a bridge.

3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent Corporation submitted that the building allotted to the writ petitioner has been completely demolished and, therefore, the allegation that the officials of the respondent are disturbing his possession is factually incorrect.

4. The petitioner's representation dated 01.10.2025 also discloses that the entire building in which his office was located has been demolished. In such circumstances, the relief sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted. 2/4

5. However, if the petitioner intends to relocate his office elsewhere, it is open to him to submit an appropriate application to the respondent Corporation. If any such application is made, the same shall be considered and decided on its own merits and in accordance with law.

6. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
