PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus forbearing the 2nd respondent from constructing a paddy storage godown in the Government grazing land comprised in Survey No.102 measuring an extent of 3.070 hectares situated at Thiruvonam Block, Thanjavur District, and consequently direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to preserve the said land for grazing and communal use by considering the petitioner's representation dated 02.02.2026 forthwith. [Order of the Court was made by DR.G.JAYACHANDRAN, J.] This writ petition is filed as a public interest litigation seeking a direction to the second respondent to forbear from constructing a paddy storage godown in the Government grazing land comprised in Survey No.102, measuring an extent of 3.070 hectares, situated at Thiruvonam Block, Thanjavur District, and consequently to direct the respondents 1 & 2 to preserve the said land for grazing and communal use.

2. On perusal of the records, we find no merit in this writ petition, which is filed as a public interest litigation and hence, we are not inclined to entertain the same.

3. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is dismissed. [G.J., J.] [K.K.R.K., J.] 12.02.2026 NCC :
