[Order of the Court was made by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.] This Writ Petition, styled as Public Interest Litigation, has been filed, seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the Respondents to conduct an enquiry in respect of the illegal drinking water connections and drainage connections in Sankar Nagar 1/3
Town Panchayat, Tirunelveli District and to take appropriate action to regularize the supply of drinking water to the public. 2.Heard Mr.K.Navaneetharaja, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.K.P.Krishnadass, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondent Nos.1 & 2 and Mr.A.Muthu Karuppan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the third respondent. 3.Mr.A.Muthu Karuppan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the third respondent on instruction from the third respondent submitted that an inspection has already been conducted and there has been no illegal water or drainage connection. 4.If that is so, the third respondent is directed to reply to the representation of the petitioner, clearly mentioning what is the date of inspection and who are all the officers, who have conducted the inspection and communicate the same to the petitioner with acknowledgment due within seven days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Thereafter, it is open to the petitioner to work out his remedy in the manner known to law.
5.The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
