Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the Respondents to grant permission and provide adequate police protection for conducting the Masipachai Festival from 13.02.2026 to 17.02.2026 at Arulmigu Vinayagar Temple, Arulmigu Muthukaruppanasamy Temple and Arulmigu Pechiamman Temple situated at Kovilangulam Village, Karumathur Taluk, Madurai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 06.02.2026.
ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the Respondents to grant permission and provide adequate police protection for conducting the Masipachai Festival from 13.02.2026 to 17.02.2026 at Arulmigu Vinayagar Temple, Arulmigu Muthukaruppanasamy Temple and Arulmigu Pechiamman Temple situated at Kovilangulam Village, Karumathur Taluk, Madurai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 06.02.2026. 2.The learned Counsel appearing for the intervener submitted that the same may be permitted without any First Honor. It is not clear whether the First Honor was granted to the petitioner or the intervener. If there is any recognition by any Court decree or by appropriate forum, the same may be conferred. If such recognition is not granted, the parties may approach the appropriate forum to confirm their rights. The respondents are directed to grant permission to conduct the Mahashivratri festival. Anybody can worship during the Mahashivaratri festival and there cannot be any discrimination.
3.With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
