This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondent to grant permission and protection for cultural event namely Adal Padal scheduled to be held on 06.05.2018 at night from 09.00 to 02.00 and Karagattaam scheduled to be held on 07.05.2018, 08.05.2018 at night from 09.00 to 02.00 in connection with "Chithirai Festival"in Arulmigu Sri Santhanamariamman Temple at Methalamparai Village, Tenkasi Taluk, Tirunelveli District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 15.03.2018. 2.Heard Mr.S.Selvakumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.N.Shanmuga Selvam, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is one of the Villagers of the said Village. The villagers are conducting the "Adal Padal" and "Karagattaam" for the past several years and this year, they have decided to conduct the "Adal Padal" on 06.05.2018 and "Karagattaam" on 07.05.2018 and 08.05.2018 and for that, they have already given a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

representation dated 15.03.2018 to the respondent, but, sofar, no order has been passed. Hence, he has filed the present writ petition.

4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent has submitted that the petitioner has stated that he has sent representation on 15.03.2018 by Post, but, so far, has not been received the said representation and hence, he requested to direct the petitioner to submit a fresh representation in person. 5.Considering the aforesaid submissions, the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh representation before the respondent in person within one week and thereafter, the respondent has to consider the said representation and pass appropriate order on merits in accordance with law and dispose of the same at early. At the time of passing order, the respondent has to keep in mind the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the case of Church of God (Full Gospel) in India Vs. K.K.R, Majestic Colony Welfare Association and Ors, reported in 2001 - 1 - L.W. (Crl.) 233. 6.With the aforesaid observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
