2. By consent of both parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
3. Heard Mr.J.Ashok, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Saravanan, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

4. The writ petitioner joined the Department as a Grade-II Police Constable in the year 1988. He got promotion as Head Constable in the year 2004. Disciplinary proceedings were initiated against him. Even though the writ petitioner was acquitted in the criminal case, the departmental proceedings ended in his dismissal. The writ petitioner filed an appeal. There, it was modified into one of compulsory retirement. The writ petitioner filed a review application before the first respondent on 29.06.2017. The first respondent is yet to pass orders thereon. Therefore, this writ petition has been filed for directing the first respondent to pass orders on the writ petitioner's review application dated 29.06.2017. The request of the writ petitioner is reasonable.
5. This Court directs the first respondent to dispose of the writ petitioner's review application dated 29.06.2017 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law on or before 28.02.2018.
