Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.By consent of both parties, the main Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission. 3.According to the petitioner, he retired from service as Work Inspector under the Public Works Department. As per G.O.Ms.No.12, Public Works Department, dated 20.01.2009, he seeks sanction of the service benefits by fixing salary from August 2000 in the cadre of Work Inspector. In this regard, he has given a representation dated 25.11.2017 to the respondents herein. 4.It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter. The first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is open to the first respondent to pass orders one way or the other. 5.The Writ Petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
