Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to take appropriate action by disposing the petitioner's representation dated 24.02.2021.

For Petitioner :Mr.RMS.Sethuraman For Respondent :Mr.S.Chandrasekar Additional Public Prosecutor

ORDER

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2.The main grievance of the petitioner is that at the time of divorce in HMOP.No.111 of 2019 between the petitioner's daughter and her husband, the petitioner's son-in-law promised to return the sreedhana articles and jewels, but he did not keep up his promise. When the petitioner requested his son-in-law to return the Sreethana as promised by him, he threatened him with dire consequences. His further contention is that though he submitted a representation with the police in this regard, till date, no action has been taken by the police.

3.Mr.S.Chandrasekar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor who accepts notice for the respondent, on instructions, would submit that the representation submitted by the petitioner was registered in Current Petition No.73/SDO(A)N.Red/2021 and posted for enquiry. 4.In the circumstances, the respondent is directed to dispose of the representation submitted by the petitioner based on findings and on merits, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
