ORDER

This petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondents no.1 and 2 to provide police protection to the petitioner from the 3rd respondent based on the complaint dated 09.02.2024.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has purchased a vehicle bearing registration no.TN 63 BE 4309 with the help of 3rd respondent company and paid the entire amount in the month of November 2021 itself. When the petitioner approached the 3rd respondent for No Objection Certificate (NOC), the 3rd respondent demanded a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- from him and the same was refused by the petitioner. Thereafter, on 07.02.2025, the 3rd respondent and their henchmen came to the petitioner's house and insisted to pay the said amount and continuously made life threat to the petitioner and his family members. Therefore, he lodged a complaint on 09.02.2025 to the respondents 1 and 2 through post and the same was received by the respondents no.1 and 2 on 10.02.2025, but no action has been taken by the respondent police. Hence, he filed this petition.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal) appearing for the respondents no.1 and 2 would submit that they have received the complaint of the petitioner and thereafter, they assigned a C.S.R.No.88 of 2025 dated 18.02.2025 and they posted the case for enquiry by tomorrow i.e. 20.02.2025. They will complete the enquiry within one week.

4. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in the petition, this Court without issuing notice to the 3rd respondent inclined to dispose the petition.

5. According to the petitioner, he lodged a complaint before the respondents no.1 and 2, but the same has not been considered. According to the learned Government Advocate, they have received the complaint of the petitioner and the same is under consideration and already they assigned C.S.R.No.88 of 2025 and posted the case for enquiry by tomorrow. Therefore, considering the limited scope of the prayer of the petitioner, this Court recording the above said submission of the learned Government Advocate inclined to dispose the case by directing the 2nd respondent to complete the enquiry within one week from the date of this Order, in accordance with law on merits.

6. With the above said observation and direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
