Prayer :- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issued a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ or order or directing the 1st respondent to initiate the disciplinary proceedings against the respondents 2 to 4 for their illegal act and , violation of human right acts and gross violation of supreme court guide lines based on his representation dated 20.11.2021 and thus render justice.
ORDER:- This Writ Petition coming on for orders on this day and upon perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of Mr.C.S.Ravichandran Advocate for the Petitioner and of Mr.D.S.Nedunchezhian Government Advocate for the First Respondent, and of Mr.D.Sadiq Raja Additional Government Pleader for Fifth and Sixth Respondent this Court made the following order:
This matter has been listed today under the caption 'for reporting compliance'.
2. The learned Additional Government Pleader brought to the notice of this Court that pursuant to the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in S.L.P.(Criminal) No.2302 of 2017 dated 03.04.2018, the Government passed an order in G.O.Ms.No.65, Home (Police-XII) Department, dated 09.02.2022 constituting State Level Oversight Committee and District Level Oversight Committee for installation, monitoring and maintenance of CCTV cameras in police stations in the State of Tamil Nadu. Consequently, the Director General of Police, Chennai issued a circular memorandum dated 07.07.2021. However, the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India has not been implemented in its letter and spirit by creating storage point for a period of 18 months. This Court, considering the practical difficulty in storing the footage for a period of 18 months, directed the authorities to provide storage point at least for a period of one year so as to avoid destruction of evidences within a period of 15 days or so.

The learned Additional Government Pleader made a submission that the competent authorities have taken the issues seriously and they are in the process of discussing the modus for the purpose of providing storage point at least for a period of one year at present and enhance, if necessary. It is contended that some more time is required for allocation of funds by the Government and for taking necessary steps through the respective committees. Thus, this Court expects that the entire process is completed and the storage point as directed by this Court in its order dated 11.03.2022 in W.P.(MD) No.4271 of 2022 is complied with at least within a period of three 2/3
months from today. Accordingly, no further orders are required in this Writ Petition.
