Respondent Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent i.e. the Principal Secretary/Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the disciplinary action initiated by him in his charge memo No.E2/16980/2015 dated 22.01.2016 considering the point that the petitioner has already remitted the alleged monetary loss, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

The prayer sought for herein is for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent i.e. the Principal Secretary/Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the disciplinary action initiated by him in his charge memo No.E2/16980/2015 dated 22.01.2016 considering the point that the petitioner has already remitted the alleged monetary loss, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court. 2.Heard Mr.S.Visvalingam, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.S.Srimathy, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioner states that though such a prayer as referred to above has been sought for in this writ petition, he would submit that the petitioner would be satisfied, if a direction is given by this Court to consider his representation dated 21.11.2016 and pass orders thereon, within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

4.In view of the said submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, after hearing the learned Special Government Pleader in this regard, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal. This writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself, by issuing the following order.
5.The respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 21.11.2016 with regard to the grievance of the petitioner for getting retirement on his superannuation and to get retirement benefits and pass orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.With this direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
