ORDER

Heard both sides.

2.The petitioner is an agriculturist. He was accused of energy theft. Since the petitioner did not pay the assessment charges, the service connection was cut off. The petitioner earlier filed W.P.(MD)No.21577 of 2015. The writ petition was dismissed by granting liberty to the petitioner to challenge the final assessment order dated 05.12.2015.

3.Now the petitioner comes forward to pay the amount in question. The learned counsel for the petitioner draws my attention to the communication dated 18.01.2024 issued by the Assistant Engineer (Distribution), Puthoor 2/4

calling upon the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.52,608/- for obtaining re-connection. The third respondent is directed to accept the aforesaid amount of Rs.52,608/- from the petitioner. The third respondent may also specify if the petitioner has to pay any re-connection charges. Upon the petitioner paying the aforesaid amounts, the service connection shall be restored and re-activated. 4.Subject to the aforesaid conditions, this writ petition is allowed. No costs.
