... Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to issue passport based on the explanation / representation dated 20.03.2018 within a time limit stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

According to the petitioner, he has filed an application before the first respondent seeking issuance of passport. After receipt of the application, the second respondent sent a communication stating that the police verification report is not clear, and application is under review at Regional Passport Office. Thereafter, the petitioner approached the first respondent, and submitted his explanation dated 20.03.2018, stating that only FIR is https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

pending against the petitioner, and it is not a bar to issue passport. But, so far no action has been taken. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

2.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, as the petitioner has already submitted his explanation to the first respondent, the first respondent is directed to consider the same, and pass suitable orders on merits and in accordance with law, after getting police verification report from the third respondent, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
