Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent ie., the Principal Secretary to Government, Revenue Department, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 28.08.2017 regarding grant of exemption from the operation of A(ii) of Annexure III to Rule 7 of the Tamil Nadu Revenue Subordinate Service Rules so as to include her name in the Deputy Tahsildar list of the year 2017 on par with her colleagues who wrote TNPSC examination along with the petitioner. The writ petitioner is working as Assistant in the office of the third respondent. His next promotional post is that of Deputy Tahsildar. The writ petitioner ought to have put in eight years service to be considered for promotion to the said post. Due to certain reasons, the writ petitioner has put in only 7 years 5 months 14 days.

submitted her representation to the Government seeking exemption. The Government is yet to pass orders thereon. The first respondent is therefore directed to consider the writ petitioner's representation dated 28.08.2017 and pass orders in accordance with law on or before 31.03.2018.
